Patriotic Poptarts

Ingredients:

  • 1 package ready-made pie crusts or puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed if frozen)

  • Your choice of jam (e.g., strawberry, raspberry, blueberry)

  • Powdered sugar (for glaze)

  • Milk (for glaze)

  • Watkins Pure Vanilla Extract 

  • Watkins Food Coloring (Red) 

  • The Fruitist Blueberries

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Roll out the dough slightly if needed, then cut into equal-sized rectangles.

  3. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of jam into the center of half the rectangles, leaving a border around the edges.

  4. Top each with another rectangle of dough. Press edges with a fork to seal.

  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  6. Let cool completely before glazing.

  7. Make the glaze by mixing ½ cup powdered sugar with 1–2 teaspoons of milk. Add 1/2 tsp Watkins Vanilla Extract. Separate into bowls and tint one bowl with Watkins Red Food Coloring.

  8. Drizzle white glaze over cooled pop-tarts, add The Fruitist Jumbo Blueberries to one corner, and pipe red glaze as stripes across the pop-tart.

  9. Let the glaze set for 10–15 minutes, then serve and enjoy!
